Can I re-take this course?

Yes, if you don’t pass the assessment at the end of part 2, you’re allowed to re-take the course until you’re fully competent.

If you don’t pass the final exam the first time, you can re-sit it within two weeks of your first attempt. If you don’t pass on your second attempt, you’ll have to re-do the whole course from the start.

Do I have to do the exam at the end?

Yes, it’s necessary for all candidates to pass the post-course exam to gain their certificate of competence. It’s estimated that the exam takes around 30 minutes to complete, and it must be done on the same day that you completed part 2.

How long after the course can I deliver phlebotomies in my pharmacy?

As soon as you receive your certificate of competence, you can start performing phlebotomies right away.

Is there anything I have to do afterwards?

After you’ve completed the course and gained your certificate of competence, it’s your responsibility to maintain the skills and knowledge you’ve learned. You also must comply with your organisation’s procedures for infection prevention and control, health and safety, and risk management.

Become your community’s go-to care destination
